Top 5 Places to Visit in Middletown this weekend

Let’s face it… Middletown is not one of the more well-known cities in CT. But, in my opinion, it is one of the most underrated areas in our state because it provides an equal balance of city and suburban life, and there’s something for everybody. Whether you’re looking for something fun to do at night, or want to enjoy the sunshine in the great outdoors, Middletown might just be the perfect spot for a day trip this weekend! Or better yet… it may be the perfect spot for you to call home!

If you’ve never explored what Middletown has to offer, take a look at these top 5 places to visit in Middletown this weekend.

This cocktail bar, meant to replicate an original speakeasy, gives you the chance to travel back in time and experience class and elegance while you sip on their unique cocktails. When you pop in for a visit, I suggest trying the Katz or the Slay Khalessi Slay, for a delicious and refreshing cocktail like you’ve never had before.

Mondo

Looking for a good pizza spot? Mondo is the place to go! This is the first restaurant my husband and I tried when we moved to Middletown, because it was recommended by our neighbors. Not only is their pizza the best in town, but the laid-back bar atmosphere makes it a great happy hour spot. If you’re looking for a good drink to pair with your pizza, I highly recommend their sangria. They add new seasonal recipes all the time, but even their staple white and red sangrias are a delicious option any time of year!

Fresh Greens & Proteins

If you’re looking for a great spot to grab a delicious and affordable lunch, this is the place. Recently opened in downtown Middletown, they offer a wide-range of bowls, wraps, salads, and protein shakes. When they first opened, I tried the Bobcat bowl and it has become my regular order… it’s delicious! Don’t underestimate how great their menu is simply because it’s a fast-food lunch spot.

There’s nothing like starting off your day with a delicious breakfast sandwich. Brew bakers on main offers a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, as well as an assortment of coffee and other beverages. The thing that stands out most, is the restaurants quaint atmosphere and comfortable seating which makes it a great spot for a breakfast meeting or catching up with a friend.

Wadsworth Falls State Park

If you’re looking for a way to get some physical exercise while enjoying the outdoors, try visiting Wadsworth Falls in Middletown. The trails are accessible for hikers of all levels. It is a family-friendly, easy walk, which allows you an opportunity to experience the peaceful waterfalls, without a grueling climb to get there. The park is dog-friendly so you can bring your fur-baby along with you on the trail too!
